The Denver Group's First Ad Hits Chicago

The Denver Group's first ad appears today (July 11, 2008) in the Chicago Tribune. We thought Chicago was the perfect place to start. For those who want to see a hard copy, it appears on page B5 of the Metro Section. But if you click the ad image you should be able to see a larger version online right here.

Well done Heidi and Marc. The Chicago Trib does indeed seem an appropriate place to start. Can't wait to hear the feedback from the ad.

Great, great ad. Thank you for all that went into it.

My contribution was well spent.

FABULOUS! I predict that there are folks who don't even know the process, or that Hillary Clinton is still technically a candidate. This will surely get everyone's attention to the issues surrounding this convention. Thank you for doing this.

Great job! As someone upstairs said, this will get people informed that did not imagine that there was still hope of getting Hillary nominated. Too bad we can't count on cable news media to report on this. Had it been the other way around, for Obama, everybody would be talking about this this morning. Nonetheless, it is going to be WE, the voters, who are going to decide this time around. It is in our hands to change the course of decades of bad politics. Just like the French Revolution marked a different era globablly, this might well be OUR time, our revolution.

I would call the ad an excellent first 'warning shot'. The DNC needs to understand that this is our, the peoples', election - not Obama's or Dean's or Pelosi's, and certainly NOT Donna Brazile's election.

One thing is made clear. We will never fall in line. This is our country and we will brook no Chicago politics from Obama.

Thanks for the ad!

I like how you started on a low, reasonable note, carefully outlining what the process actually is and what the stakes could be. Will be very eye-opening for some. Congratulations on a masterful debut.

Fantastic!!! The media has implied it is a done deal since BO declared himself the nominee. The ad gives voters the facts!

And by the way - I have wondered why Obama has anything to say about who's name is placed in nomination? I know he's used to running unopposed, but isn't it up to Senator Clinton, who can withdraw her name, or leave it in?

I Hope you guys put these adds in battle ground state news papers

This is an excellent statement. I love the historical reference which should refect to them the history of our democracry, and how it was founded on a "one vote" concept. It was the active wretching away from England and its appointments, and annointments and governing commandments. It signaled the move toward a radical approach to governing. Thank you for leading the way and shinning a light on our history and the basic tennents of democracy. A passionate PUMA

Thank you, Denver Group for reminding us that we still have power. This nomination season has been an eye opener. I always thought that the Democratic Party stood for something, but if they can't hold an honest convention, then what are they good for?

I was impressed with your effort to bring to bear the responsibility the Democratic Party has to adhere to the democratic process of LEGALLY nominating a presidential candidate.

As such, I have posted an article on my blog so that my readership may also know of your heroic efforts.

Heidi & Marc,
YOU NAILED IT!!

Chicago was a great strategic choice. Glad you named names so that the public can hold them accountable. Your greatest gift is that you are bringing awareness to many who know only what the mass media has been feeding them.

The Denver Group is empowering the people and speaking loud and clear to the DNC. YOU WILL BE EFFECTIVE.

Yes Yes Yes! There is still hope that I will vote Democrat this November. Let's get Hillary nominated!

Heidi in California said...

How about a full page ad in Sunday New York and LA Times. That'll get some attention. Somehow we need this to play on major news channels so more people are aware. Most people will support this. Give her a vote!

Thank you so much! This is fabulous! I'm going to donate to your cause after I finish posting my comment.

The ad states that "the days of smoke filled rooms and back door deals are over". The media and Obama camp was worried that if Hillary got the nomination it would have been due to back room deals. But, the way things are turning out - with the Obama campaign moving the DNC to Chicago and hijacking its resources for the Presidential campaign (while damaging and dismantling other local democratic campaigns across the nation) - reeks blatantly of armtwisting, bullying and major back room deals. Not to mention the large amounts of money paid to superdelegates, the unexplainable pro-Obama agenda by the DNC, and the lack of media scrutiny about who really was the strongest candidate (on her own merits) and why.

Good choice printing the ad in the Trib! Thanks for laying it out so plainly. Keep 'em coming!

I am a member of PUMA PAC and I live in the Chicago area. On Friday as soon as I read about the ad I ran out to get a copy of the paper because I live just outside the metropolitan area where the ad did not appear, I drove in the hellish Friday traffic and into the 'no-man's land' that is Chicago's west side, I hit the first Walgreens (the safest venue I surmised)I ran back into my car, sat in the parking lot and quickly leafed through the paper..all the months of frustration were finally validated, all the powerlessness I have felt since May 31st seemed to melt away and was replaced by a new and re-energized resolve! The actual ad looks amazing, it is 3/4 or 2/3 of a page, it is very eye catching and the message is just as sweet as it can be. Thank you Heidi, Thank you Mark..I am saving and framing the copy..Let's keep forging ahead we all have a lot of work to do and much to accomplish...not one minute can be squandered!

Thank you very much for your important efforts and and your powerful ad. Please keep up the great work! Yes, democracy is non-negotiable! Never allow the DNC to say you are the one who is being divisive.

And what if Obama is his usual authoritarian self and forces a coronation down the throats of Dems? What shall we do then?

GREAT AD! Thank you to both of you and all who contributed. The ad was perfect, and BTW, Heidi I saw you on YouTube (Your interview on Monday). You did a wonderful job. I am so glad I was able to put a lovely face to such articulate words which I heard on the radio interview about a week ago. I think you are both doing fantastic work for so many of us and our next POTUS!

Anonymous said...

Heidi,
Excellent...you definitely got it right!!!! This article should be sent to every super delegate ESPECIALLY Donna Brazile, no wonder CNN is so pro-Obama! Hillary was really bamboozled!!! I hope this happens. Dean was on the ballot with around 130 delegates...what's his beef? Thanks again, will definitely be donating. This needs to hit all the main media sites and major newspapers!

Superb! Keep pushing the difference between having Hillary's name in nomination and the "roll call vote" meant to pacify us.
